Editor's Note

The route into hospitality has never had more doors — nor more confusion about which to walk through. From a Level 2 apprenticeship that pays you to learn, to a Master's at Surrey worth £10,900 in fee waivers, the right course depends entirely on where you are and where you're going.

This second edition is a full nationwide audit. We've added 70+ FE colleges across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland alongside the specialist schools, universities, awarding bodies and industry scholarship programmes. Every college entry consolidates that institution's typical Levels 1-3 cookery and hospitality provision plus apprenticeships — confirm specific course titles and intake dates with each provider before applying. Filter by region to find your local options.

The 2026 funding landscape, briefly.

The UK apprenticeship system is reforming. From April 2026, brand-new Foundation Apprenticeships in hospitality launch — paid 8-month entry programmes for 16-21 year olds, with employers receiving £2,000 incentives. From September 2026, funding is being withdrawn from some leadership standards (Level 3 Team Leader, Level 5 Operations Manager) — but Level 4 Hospitality Manager and Senior Culinary Chef apprenticeships retain their funding.

If you're under 24 and joining an SME, your training is fully funded. Levy-paying employers (over £3m payroll) can spend their levy on most of these. Most scholarships listed below operate on annual cycles — apply early.
